Observations. . . .

I live in a neat house.  On the day I set out the trash, garbage pickers drive by to look for good things.  They drive away when they realize my garbage is like everyone else’s.  They soon realize I don’t throw away good stuff.

For too many people life is a closed circuit TV.  But the channels to other  realities are open.  In what was once a quiet head, one wonders who left the gym door open at the end of the hall.

                                                            *****
Do we care about the other’s survival?  Only to a point because we think we cannot survive without the other.  To insure our own survival, we try to mold the Other to the likeness of what we value.

                                                            *****
We tire eventually of depending on sheer endurance.

                                                            *****
Man should give his reasoning mind a chance because his heart has already instructed it.

                                                            *****
Homilies may get to be boring but they are the tie that binds.  They are the moorings that keep us from floating without direction.

                                                            *****
Too much is left undone by man’s cliché used as his out. . if God be willing.  The truth is, man is not willing.

                                                            *****
Physical boundaries allow us to function in a physical world.  But our glimpses into other realities let it be known we are of sound mind and not boundaried in all worlds.

                                                            *****
It is our God Within with glimpsed promises of life everlasting.  To dismiss these is to dismiss a gift of spirit that physical life cannot express.

The Scales Are Just. . . .

We are not  the product of one lifetime, but many lifetimes and many frameworks.  And we are a reference point to other frameworks.
*****
The Ego which needs continual stroking becomes unwieldly and obscures divine passage.
*****
‘I am only human’ is an excuse that has been overworked.
*****
To dismantle another’s world demands that we stay around long enough to help build another one.
*****
Within is the rest and without is the charm.
*****
We need to see things as they more nearly are.
*****
To create a reality is everyone’s business and cooperation is necessary.  It is a communal endeavor.
*****
To build a philosophy to fit a perspective and includes our commitments has a high cost.
*****
The highest framework we can choose is the one by which the heart is healed.
*****
Heaven rushes to the side of our cradle to give proof that we are not abandoned.
*****
To ask presumes the divine presence in the Other.  It is a love affair of the greatest kind.
*****
We aim to educate the heart.   And the condition of the heart will determine the cost of tuition.
*****
If by our presence  we signify criticism, we lecture without opening our mouths.

Time’s Gleanings. . .

All knowledge is applicable to the self.  If it is used to manipulate and maneuver Others  it then becomes a game.
*****
Insight implies sight to be applied inward.
*****
Genuine laughter cleanses the toxic waste from swollen glands.
*****
Only the secure one can afford to laugh at oneself.
*****
To laugh at oneself displays a growth not to be measured in local currency.
*****
The individual who has gone the route and places things in their proper perspective, knows that life is not a death matter.
*****
Selfhood does not depend on the trends of the moment and our lives do not depend on what the world currently deems, but on personal premises.
*****
Faith is blind of necessity.  The individual chooses an immunity necessary to quiet the questions which might delay other imperative lessons.
*****
The framework we choose to inhabit is the security blanket covering emergencies that need to comfort the mind.
*****
The treasure chest within each individual opens with the word ‘why?’
*****
The word ‘why?’ will either start the journey or close it.
*****
The camouflage system we use serves us well.  When a crack appears in the walls of mind where a stray thought might enter,  we run for the emotional plaster or caulking to seal the crevasses.
*****
Like a dancer learning the discipline of a new score, we have rehearsed minute by minute to come to this place, this place of understanding where we are now.  If limited, time yet to change limited to broad.

The Happy Camper Gleanings. . . .

Man can strike the essence of what is wrong in the arena the heavens cannot reach.
*****
Man must process an enormous amount of garbage in the place where integration of the human is of vital interest.
*****
The sounds of mortal life cut deeply and quickly and with great pain to those who have ears to hear.
*****
Television is the answer to a lifetime prayer for some.  To be entertained without having to participate is the ultimate dream.
*****
Rehearsed rhetoric is a game to use for one’s own justification.
*****
Humanity’s progress comes quarter inch by quarter inch.  We can jumpstart evolution simply by opening a book to learn something new.
*****
Mass evolution is an oxymoron, a contradiction in terms; never a fact and never a reality.
*****
Ambition takes on the sharpness of a double edged sword.  Not only do we benefit when applied to learning, but our circle of commitments benefit also.

*****
Motion gives the illusion of growth and to man means progress.
*****
Life is a pleasure when all things are left out except those giving pleasure. Yet we all know that only with struggles do we actually prosper in character.
*****
What is here and now is no different than anywhere else.  Only our sense of it makes a difference.  And of course, the costumes.
*****
The life of the least is more than something.  It is all there is.
*****
The universe may be neither good nor bad,  but it cares because it too, must survive.

Some Awards Do Not Hang On Walls. . . . .

Often we think nothing has been accomplished in our lives, so I encourage journal keeping, if only a few sentences limited to what one learns in the day.  Many of us have enlisted our efforts in what cannot be seen.  The journals will show the awards that hang on the heart and not on the walls.  They will show  that some awards money cannot touch and are priceless.

The following maxims and gleanings were taken from a June 10, 2013 entry.  Some were scribed and others focused in dialogue.  Sit with one or two and write what you know when they take your thought.  Surprise yourself with what you have learned on your journey. . .

Feeding a body is crucial but to starve a mind is criminal.
*****
The world is full of many riches.  Mental activity in only one form is not for everyone.
*****
We can walk from the mental buffet and eat a bit from all tables and never be at a loss to learn.
*****
When husband and wife, daughter and son, sister and brother, friend and lover skills are not called upon, make cradles and cars, books and hats and be a prized trophy of a human.   Do and you will be shown  how.
*****
How we conduct our lives and what we learn determines the world we prepare for.

*****
What you love into being, you become and graduate to.
*****
When you become the person you hope to meet, you are the person looked for.
*****
Go with the God who made you.  He, She, It, They certainly did a good piece of work with you.
*****
Remember, when beliefs are dislodged, often the person holding them is dislodged also.  But further study ALWAYS  enlightens because the premises are broadened, the picture enlarged.  Do your best and study hard.  Ancient studies  taught me that educating a son, one educates one man.  Educating a daughter,  one educates a family.   What happens on the world stage is determined by what happens within the four walls where one’s life begins.  Begin anew.

From My Plate. . .

Perspective depends on how open one’s head is.  Or how tightly closed it is.

                                                  *****
We yearn with the client for a vacation in an Eden which feeds and does not accuse.

                                                    *****
The Universe may be of a benign nature but it cares, because it too, must survive.

                                                  *****
That mankind can grow into a benign caring nature is the dream!

                                                  *****
Deep waters do not necessarily mean one cannot float, even though one does not swim.

                                                   *****
Man clings to many things in this world that no longer have a place.  It is his security blanket but full of philosophical holes.

                                                    *****
Standing alone is better than leaning against a house which is in itself, sinking.

                                                  *****
There can be no victory unless there is a victor.

                                                  ****
Marthas do not compromise.

                                                  *****
But the Marys would not know to be pressed if they were between waxed sheets under a hot iron.

                                                  *****
Regardless of the mental and emotional garbage one carries, there is always that something one does that has a redeeming value.

                                                  *****
A good friend will give of his abundance and hug nothing back.

                                                  *****
Everyone is in the advertising business.  We keep plugging our immortality and live lives in such a way as to make good on our promises.

                                                  *****
When the world bleeds, from where will come the bandage large enough and where will we start to wrap the wound?

Scribings. . . .

Scribings. . . .

To stand straight need not be at the expense of another’s fall.  It can be because of one’s need to reach higher than one knows.

                                           *****
Facing one’s self in declining years is a task best left to those who point to kudos on their walls.  Their sights rest on visible accomplishments.

                                           *****
When one’s commitments are successful,  rewards are hung on hearts that supported them.  Not chosen to be seen since public autopsy needs bodies not breathing.

                                           *****
God is a word most people stop at because mind balks at its meagre knowledge to proceed.

                                           *****
To not remember is to lock the vault only to have it burglarized and be called to remember without those whose presence would have made the memories bearable, either in joy or sorrow.

                                           *****
To put memories into a vault, tightly lidded, is to crowd emotions into a body with only death as a release.

                                           *****
The ugliest thing is not ugly but incomplete.  In its being incomplete, new references are being formed.

                                           *****
The right to truth is mine to uncover; the right to conceal belongs to the Other.

                                           *****
Nothing good is gained when the Other is forced to lie for survival.

                                           *****
Possibly consider denial of obvious facts as suicide prevention.

                                           *****
How great a problem is has already been decided by the forgetting.

                                           *****
To inflict pain one  must stay around to heal.  Eternally if necessary.

A Resting Place. . . .

Conclusions are reached by methodical circumcision.  We  cut apart our hearts and yield what we can.

 *****

There will always be those things which cost dearly and have no remunerative value.  They may be outside our frame of reference but are recognized when the time is right.  Then you know you have paid dearly and given the full litre of blood.

*****

In the place where we rest, bless the multitudes for they know not what they do, let alone what they say.

 *****

The amount of  teaching that has gone on in this vestibule of the church of Man has been enormous.  Pray that the learning takes.

 *****

Too many people act with instinct without considering the source of that instinct.  What was once appropriate and serviceable, is no longer.

 *****

Instinct is a precarious word and human balance should not rest on the word ‘precarious’

*****

Nature’s balance is such that never is a dream dreamed without the ability to put it into motion.

*****

Life in a crucible is life in human form.

 *****

The look of innocence is the state of shock;  that level where the soul has rested, the mind has stopped pursuing and spirit dares not delve further.

*****

Timing is of the essence.  You cannot pull a tulip out of the ground nor can you force the petals of the rose to unfold with your own hands.  Of their own accord and in their own timing, they will.

*****

Not to trample hearts, but to cup them.

This I Know. . because I learned. . .

This I Know. . . because I learned. . .

Only with deeper understanding is there any basis for understanding.
*****
To love oneself presumes a selfishness man cannot abide in himself.
*****
Yet to be selfish presents an attitude of self acceptance, of tolerance that can only begin to be outward in the employment of attitude toward one’s neighbor, the Other.
*****
Unless emotional excesses, like ancient affronts are released, they will continue to be genetically transmissible.
*****
The split in man is so dichotomous, that his life is one mass of contradictions.
*****
When advancing age stiffens the limbs and makes the mind less elastic, we will find the inner ear listening to what the heart stirs.
*****
To say it is mine to do and do it is to take the bull by the horns.  And to say I will take responsibility for it is to tame the bull.
*****
Where will the young generation turn if not to those who pride themselves that their advancing years have brought a degree of wisdom?
*****
Who is going to teach when all about are denying that they are getting older, never mind wiser?
*****
Why is it considered cool to say you ‘know nothing’ when your body shouts your age to say you should have learned something?
*****
When our years pile upon us, why do we feel embarrassed when our experience has taught and we learned from it, to say ‘this I know.’
****
The persuasive voice is well trained to manipulate.  Today we call it selling.

Moments Of Thought. . . .for us. . .

Moments of Thought. . . .

In retrospect, everything becomes a moral decision.  Some of us only learn this in our dotage when reflecting on how we lived our lives.
*****
It is a vast classroom but the basic lesson is one of abandonment.  Everyone knows abandonment.  The hardest lesson to bring home is to dream into being the splendor that can come when the heart is healed
*****
To insert the cosmic into the mundane is what we must do.
*****
Whenever we embark on a choice, we embark also on change.  With choice comes responsibility to carry through.
*****
We are free to make other choices.  But when we come to commitments, there may be no choice at all. No options.
*****
One’s sense of one’s place in the larger picture heightens one’s sense of responsibility.
*****
Unless you can share your heart,  you cannot enter into a liaison with anyone and raise a family.
*****
You cannot force feed a menu when the seated are not hungry.
*****
The continuity of life is the only view worth harboring.  How else to explain the eternity it takes for a mushroom or daffodil to reach full potential?  One life does it for a human?
*****
In our solitude we don’t have an audience of peoples; we have an audience of souls.
*****
I have learned that if it is not done here, where I am, it will not be done elsewhere.  If I see this good to do, I must do it now or there will not be this chance nor these favorable circumstances again.
*****
When a good is done on one hearth, all hearths will do good throughout all worlds.
