With Knees Bent. . . .

With Knees Bent. . . .

There are those who  have learned the ways of the world but neglected to learn the lessons that might  have led to the same conclusions with understanding.

*****

In the midst of agonies, there is the absurdity.  But to carry the absurdity past its point, belabors it.

*****

The lessons have been taught over and over and now the students will either come to class on their own or continue recess.

*****

Today’s man only allows 30 seconds to capsule our thoughts.  Anything more smacks of lecturing and lecturing brings back a harness that mandatory education is.  Strange that he has forgotten ordinary conversation which once we engaged in happily.

*****

To be less than compassionate is to befoul the learning.  To be less than one’s best is to compromise.

*****

The mind set to turn a particular direction is already bent.

*****

Only as we observe that life is everlasting and neverending,  and the challenge is in the journey with hope,  mankind will tolerate the fact that destiny is in his hands.

*****

The greatest lessons are those that require digesting but man prefers it all to be done while he sleeps.  The most meaningful are those of length that he must trudge with footwork and those wrought in the places of ablution.

*****

We are out to lunch when an Other deals with what we are not aware of.

*****

We can take events and make good porridge from fermented oats.  Sometimes it is grain gone wild.

*****

There will be change simply because there will be shame.

*****

When what is done is done in good Grace and a full heart,  there will be knees bent at the bed’s edge.

*****

Let the music in my heart be heard in the spheres.  And let the heart interpret correctly.

Touchstones. . .

The strength of man is in himself and not in an Other.

*****

Knowing what to say is a social skill.  Meaning takes the form of action in the heart.

*****

The emotions generated by an event in one’s life hold a panoramic view of the entire life.  To dislodge one sacred cow will diminish the whole herd.

*****

What is purposefully discussed is not always successfully resolved.  What one says is not necessarily what one has incorporated within one’s fabric.

 *****

What is hidden will surface and cannot be forever controlled.

*****

A rock in the head is hard to take.  It hurts and leaves a welt.  But a heart which is pressed gives not blood but wine.

*****

There is no better place than here where you are now because unless you have earned a better place,  the lessons will be repeated.

*****

Civilized man puts order into his existence but not into his life.

*****

In the cliché ‘come hell or high water’, hell is closer than you think and high water is not too far either.

******

If we do not understand the wind, we will be caught in the whirlwind.

*****

May the angels rock your soul with lullabies and the gods listen carefully to your lectures.

*****

And yes, it is time for the world to know that when  heaven does not speak to the individual, it is time to ask why not.

When The Plough Seems Too Heavy. . . . .

Gleanings . . .

If you do not intend to look back, remember to lift the plough.  And sometimes the plough seems too heavy to lift but we push on anyway to find it is a joy and a privilege.

*****

Always state the condition of the heart in preference to appearance.  You will then see with eyes destined for immortality while you walk.

*****

Sometimes doing nothing at all helps a someone to mature faster than times which are hard on the heart.  Or doing nothing at all ruins a person more quickly by hardening the heart than times which are hard on the pocket book.

*****

Listen carefully to my heartbeat for you will hear your own.

*****

The greatest gift is that of the thinking mind.

*****

With the shrug of the shoulders, no work is ever completed.  It is with the footwork involved that we see what the work has meant.

*****

Do not expect what cannot be delivered.

*****

When you lament where is the end and in what universe is it all and then to conclude it is all universally good is not valid.  For then when you see where it is you are, the last chapter would be writ.  There is no last chapter.  Life is everlasting.

*****

With aging the blanks in memory are embarrassing and the pressures of the fast moving society makes them appear more frequently.  It has always been thus.

*****

Everything becomes a moral decision if one holds the long view.  Yet the long view is the only one and demands it lest there be no tomorrow for those whose propensity is for instant gratification.

*****

To suffer is to be aware of the damage you do to the ones you care about.

Truisms. . . .

The heart will determine what the head sees and put into the eyes the meaning of it all.

*****

Time is not of the essence, but quality of thinking is.  For the thought was already a thing in process before the action cemented it.

*****

By their actions you shall know them.   By their actions you will see the fruits of their days.  And by our action, the heavens know the thought processes involved.

*****

Some prayers are answered and some are not.  The final question should be, why not mine?

*****

To change even one behavior pattern will demand that all behavior patterns be changed.  And many are not equal to the work.

*****

It would also say that there was a deficiency in behavior and the need to say I was wrong.  And with advancing years can we wipe out a life while still living?

*****

Heaven is an earned order and until one approaches the place where admission is qualified,  one cannot enter.  The homework first has to be done and the mind alerted.

*****

Work has taken on an onerous meaning.  Play has taken on a sensual meaning.  Neither are correct.  Neither give full sway to the correct and apt meanings.

*****

A creative shining spirit is fun to watch.  It is one, on whom the heavens bank their monies.

*****

It is far easier to prolong a situation waiting for it to work itself out.  Confrontation is not for everyone.  Especially when history has shown  the one on whom the  workload will fall.

******

Sometimes the need to be wanted is only bested by the want to be wanted.

*****

Kindness is never out of date nor is it old fashioned.

Skimming the Ethers. . .

Mother to child with expanding knowledge. . . ‘I don’t care in what lifetime you were Pope but in this life you clean up your own messes.. !  Now!!!

*****

We clean our own doorstep before the children go out so that they do not step into the muck and mire we neglected to take care of.

*****

You cannot walk with your eyes on the horizon when there is so little good housekeeping in evidence.

*****

Make certain our yard is clean before we take the position of giving direction to our neighbors how to clean up theirs.

*****

There are no cavities as large as the one man digs for himself.

*****

Desirable behavior is behavior that will have no ill effect on the young who look hungrily for role models.

*****

You cannot fix much when no one has the courage or the intelligence to identify what is broken.

*****

We must teach our young that when we see good to do we must do it because this chance will be lost forever for us in these particular circumstances and who we are.  It will be our loss.

*****

And to argue what is good is to beg the question and give the recalcitrant time for argument.  They are sophisticated and well versed in their reasons.  Good requires work. Of course.

*****

Heaven is not the font of wisdom and makes many errors.  Proof is the world we inhabit.

*****

Alone till the night comes to bind us and the day delivers us to each other.

Crashing The Cosmic Gates. . .

Crashing The Cosmic Gates. . .

If you are not gun shy after being shot,  then you don’t understand the purpose of a  gun.

*****

The soul tries on all attitudes to see which one fits the present world one lives in.

*****

All conditions can lend to growth because all conditions contain lessons.  Mankind’s wish to be taught by osmosis without effort would further enhance his physical playground.  Fun and games would lead to the top of the class?  For sure.

*****

Enough times told, even the body begins to change its habits.  It matches the words the  mouth spills.

*****

Any degree of questioning leading to any degree of study lends  a higher quality to a life which beggars.

*****

We lose sight of the dream when we forget that we had dreamed it.

*****

Within is the treasure,  and without the within,  there is no without.

*****

What was not fulfilled at the time needed will be sought for in every corner except within the person himself.  And another generation to shoulder the search for ancestor’s anguish.

Peace Of Mind. . . .

We persist in thinking we might make a difference because we don’t know when we might make a difference.

*****
When illusions are unmasked, coping mechanisms prove unable.

*****
Death is a triumph.  The tragedy would be had we never been.

*****
A cynic is someone on the threshold of understanding.

*****
Man’s God is a ‘controlled substance.’

*****
Man is a prime example of ‘substance abuse.’

*****
An image is a reflection of an idea.

*****
All worlds are reflections of ideas in various stages of completion.

*****
Love underwrites the hope always.  It has to be the basis for all of life.

*****
We. . . are always safe.

*****
Sometimes the body goes out of control and aches.  It is an ache with a memory.

*****
If you are not gun shy after being shot,  then you don’t understand the purpose of a gun.

Within is the treasure and without the within,  there is no without

All of humankind is in need of professional counseling, but who is going to counsel the counselors?

*****

If man is the result of the whim of the Potter,  how dependable is the Potter?

*****

Or is the lump of clay thrown out willy nilly and at the whim of the elements, molded?

 *****

Can any constructive change be considered not worthwhile and worth the effort?  When does ‘at what cost’ enter into the argument?

*****

The attempt to discern writing of the ancients is an attempt filled with trepidation.  As man and his language evolved , to trace early meaning accurately is to find a man with mind and an ancient frame of reference.

*****

When we fall down, we will get up only as fast as we are embarrassed.  Or hurt.

 *****

It is never too late to do a good thing.

*****

An accident is only an accident when we do not feel responsible.

 *****

Heaven is kind to allow us so much time as children, otherwise we would never be forgiven.

*****

As long as we have the ability to emote,  we have the passion to breathe

*****

The dismay which follows truth should not defeat us because in a quiet moment longer, the courage will be given for constructive action.

*****

Love life sufficiently and make it all sacred,  for it is.

Pieces of Mind. . .

If it were not for those who make connections with events,  mankind long ago would have eaten dirt.  And it would have been the end of the sojourn.

*****

Heaven opens momentarily and closes  but the glimpses from the view linger and haunt one forever.

*****

We endure those things we are powerless to change, no matter how wise the intentions.

*****

Commitments, destined or chosen, determine choices and sometimes close choices completely.  Conscience will help determine needed adjustments in thinking.

*****

It is the lighted candle that sparks the heavens.

*****

Life is a balanced judgment.

*****

In the silence of who we are,  we take flight.

*****

When we ravage the psyche of children,  they in turn have difficulty cherishing anything with reverence,  especially their Earth Mother.

*****

You must give them tools with which to work, not crutches.  Tools.

*****

It is not the mystery of life which stuns man and does not beguile him to further thought.  It is the work involved.

*****

The long face of gloom does not become the human at all in the face of so many small victories, but the constant  grin bespeaks an empty head too.

*****

Considering the condition of the world and considering who we confine to psychiatric wards,  the question should arise,  how one defines who is mad in a world gone mad?

Beyond Morsels. . .

Beyond Morsels. . . .

When one needs a fire to rest by, one often  has to build it first.  But no fire made by other hands warms as compared with effort gone into the building and fanning of one’s own flame.

*****

You cannot list the world’s disorders without revealing yours in duplicate.  You identify them because you relate to them by knowledge of experience.  You cannot blame others for what they are unable to relate to,  seeing nothing of themselves in the ills surrounding.  And not being able to identify them,  they cannot do something about what they cannot see.   How to open eyes and by what process?

*****

He spoke a good song but he did not sing it.

*****

Kindness is never out of date.  Nor is it old fashioned.

*****

The right to truth is mine to uncover.  The right to conceal belongs to the Other.

*****

When illusion hides the reality, the bears become frightened.  And they stand and attack what could be their greatest gift.

*****

Sometimes it seems that nowhere is the rational voice or the clean motive.  And there are none. There are only people who justify themselves and give forth with their justifications.  And the justifications are needed.  They could not continue otherwise.  Are we not one of them?

*****

To think is to act.  To the Others it appears as doing nothing.  But it is a supreme undertaking one approaches.

*****

Conscience is installed to monitor one’s life for one’s survival.  Conscience is memory of acts done to one with a memory of pain.

*****

We are our belief system.  As we stand, we teach.

*****

There are worlds being spun out of glossy webs that bespeak of spun sugars.

*****

You cannot fool the nature of souls and souls have a way of propounding the innocent and the complex.  In the midst of all that is done,  the soul will fathom the doer and know beyond doubt what the motive and process has been.
